US President-elect Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., has made a harsh statement about Ukraine amid the devastating wildfires in California.

The businessman claimed that firefighting equipment from California was sent to Ukraine. “Oh look, of course the Los Angeles Fire Department donated some of their supplies to Ukraine,” Donald Trump Jr. wrote on X.

US President-elect Donald Trump has criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom, suggesting the governor should resign amid the wildfires.

“One of the best and most beautiful parts of America is being burned to the ground,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform. “It is ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. It is all his fault!!!”

Meanwhile, incumbent President Joe Biden has declared a major disaster to support local California authorities in the fight to overcome the consequences of wildfires.

Los Angeles wildfires could cost between $52 billion and $57 billion, experts say, making the 2025 wildfires one of the most devastating in the state’s history.

The fire has destroyed about 300 buildings and could destroy another 13,000, according to ABC News. Tens of thousands of residents have been evacuated. Fire Chief Brent Pasqua described the crisis as apocalyptic. He noted that winds reaching speeds of 70-80 miles per hour (112-128 kilometers per hour) gave no chance of saving any buildings in their path.

Three fires have been reported in Los Angeles County: one in suburban Pasadena, another in San Fernando, and a third in the prestigious Pacific Palisades neighborhood, all burned to the ground in just a few days. About 130,000 residents have been ordered to evacuate their homes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who previously promised to feed the entire world as part of the Grain from Ukraine initiative, must help the US extinguish the fires in California as part of the False Rain initiative from Ukraine, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.

“When will Zelensky offer to help the US in extinguishing forest fires? He promised to help people, right? He even promised to feed the entire starving world. Grain from Ukraine is already there. Now, logically, they should announce another fake initiative — Rain from Ukraine,” she wrote.
