Terry Bradshaw says Tom Brady ‘is doing really well’ as one of the lead commentators on FOX this season.
The former New England Patriots quarterback announced his second retirement in 2023 after his initial stepdown lasted only 40 days. It didn’t take long for the seven-time Super Bowl champion to get back into the swing of things with the NFL, as he signed a lucrative 10-year deal worth $375 million (£293.6m) with FOX to analyse and commentate on the games.
While appearing on the Rodeo Time podcast alongside Dale Brisby, former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and FOX veteran Bradshaw had his say on Brady’s work so far – and was full of praise for the 47-year-old.
Bradshaw said of Brady: “Yeah, I’m working with him now. He’s doing a great job, too, as I like to say, the original TB. But he’s doing really good.”
Bradshaw is an integral part of the FOX network, having been an employee since 1994 and is one of Brady’s role models in his new line of work. In fact, the 76-year-old has revealed previously that the ex-Patriots star once asked him for advice before embarking on his commentating career.
Speaking on Today in October, Bradshaw was quizzed if he knew his new pundit partners – Jason Kelce and Brady. He said: “No, I don’t know [Jason] Kelce, I do know Tom Brady. And Tom did say, ‘Hey look, if you could give me some any advice at all, I really value what you have to say’, and I really appreciated that.”
He added: “What I’ve done more than anything is encourage him after the games, I’ve texted him and said ‘really great, I can tell you’re getting more comfortable’. I love hearing what he has to [offer], seven-time Super Bowl champion, he’s got something to add to a broadcast, and I love listening to him.”
Brady and Bradshaw are now both working on the FOX network together, but they would have had quite the fierce battle on the field had they competed in the same era.
Bradshaw boasts two Super Bowl MVP awards and four Lombardi trophies in his cabinet, whereas Brady has five Super Bowl MVPs and has won the elite competition seven times – six with the Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
