Raiders now in prime position to take Shedeur Sanders in 2025 NFL Draft image

The Las Vegas Raiders suffered another disappointing loss on Sunday, falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 28-13 at Raymond James Stadium. The Raiders have lost nine consecutive games after starting 2-2 on the year and are now 2-11 on the season. Las Vegas will head back home to Allegiant Stadium in Week 15 to square off against the Atlanta Falcons as one of the two matchups on a Monday Night Football doubleheader.

The Raiders’ defeat to the Bucs in Week 14 was an unmitigated disaster, as the offense looked out of sync, the defense allowed over 400 total yards, and quarterback Aidan O’Connell suffered a severe knee injury. With just four games remaining in the 2024 campaign, Las Vegas will look to finish the year on a high note and avoid their first two-win season in nearly 20 years.

Though the Raiders roster is atrocious, the franchise will have the opportunity to bolster the group in a pivotal 2025 offseason. One unit that desperately needs upgrading is quarterback, as Las Vegas hasn’t seen competent play at the position since Derek Carr’s departure in 2023.

The Raiders will likely look to select a signal caller in the NFL Draft, as the team lacks promising young talent at the sport’s most vital position. Selecting a quarterback in the draft will be an easy task if Las Vegas continues to lose games and improve its draft positioning.

Though there are still four contests left to be played, the Raiders are currently projected to hold the No.1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The New York Giants also have a 2-11 record and are slated to have the No.2 overall pick.

There are a ton of talented prospects in this year’s draft, but Colorado signal caller Shedeur Sanders seems like the obvious pick. Sanders has already teased interest in joining the Raiders, posting a video on Instagram of Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium with the caption “Legendary” on Friday.

Additionally, Sanders is the most accurate and pro-ready quarterback in the 2025 draft class and would give Las Vegas an electric young signal-caller with a dynamic arm.
