The Kansas City Chiefs might have found an answer to their biggest problem on offense so far this season with veteran left tackle DJ Humphries returning to full health after recovering from his ACL tear.
Humphries signed for the Chiefs last month in a deal which raised eyebrows, with the offensive lineman believed to be out for the season after rupturing his ACL in the final week of the 2023 season. However, he has been able to return to the practice field in recent weeks, signing with the Chiefs after leaving the Arizona Cardinals with him set to step in as the starter in week 14.
Kansas City has rotated both rookie Kingsley Suamataia and second-year pro Wanya Morris at left tackle so far this season, though both struggled.

Humphries signed with the Chiefs on a low-price deal, with him now looking ready to return to action when the Chiefs face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football.
The former Cardinals left tackle has been one of the better players at the position for the past eight seasons, signing two lengthy extensions and making over $100 million in his career – while still being just 30 years old.

But Arizona had made the decision to cut Humphries this past season after he tore his ACL, needing to save money on their salary cap. Humphries had remained a free agent up until late November, with it appearing that he’d not be playing this season. However, his signing with the Chiefs had fans hoping he’d return – with him set do so quickly and step in as their starter.
Humphries has started in 98 games in the NFL, being the Cardinals team captain for the past five years while being an anchor for Kyler Murray to rely on.
He’ll be expected to start moving forward, being a huge boost for Mahomes as well as the returning Isiah Pacheco, with the running back missing most of the season after suffering a fractured fibula in week two.
