Mac Jones helps Patriots' draft position again with his new team image

The New England Patriots entered the Week 14 slate of games holding the fourth-overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, but while they were on their bye week, they had no control of their destiny this week.

Luckily, they got some help from an old friend, as Mac Jones and the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Tennessee Titans 10-6 at Nissan Stadium on Sunday.

Jones, 26, was New England’s first-round pick in 2021 out of Alabama. He had a great rookie season, but he took steps back in 2022 and 2023 which led to the Patriots sending him to the Jaguars for a sixth-round pick last offseason.

The quarterback didn’t have the best game of his career, throwing for 220 yards and two interceptions with no touchdowns. However, the Jaguars still earned a victory, improving their record to 3-10 which ties them with New England.

Jerod Mayo’s team is also 3-10, but Jacksonville has a more difficult strength of schedule this year, so the Patriots have jumped up from the fourth pick to the third.

If New England loses out and either the Las Vegas Raiders or New York Giants win a game during the final four weeks of the season, the Patriots could jump up again.
