Kylie Kelce isn’t one to follow every parenting trend—especially when it comes to birthdays. The wife of former NFL star Jason Kelce recently opened up about her strong feelings on a common practice she refuses to adopt while raising their daughters.
During the February 20 episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie made it clear that she is vehemently opposed to the idea of giving gifts to siblings on a child’s birthday.
“I am vehemently against the idea of other kids getting birthday presents on a child’s birthday,” Kylie, 32, stated firmly. “Our family knows—no one else is receiving a birthday present for Bennett’s birthday. Everyone gets their own special day.”
Kylie, who is currently pregnant with the couple’s fourth daughter, believes birthdays should be about celebrating the honoree, not spreading the attention around.
“When your siblings get presents for your birthday, it reduces your birthday. It’s not their birthday. It’s your birthday,” she explained.
She also sees the practice as a form of unnecessary coddling.
“I think it teaches them, to a degree, that just because someone’s getting presents doesn’t mean you get presents,” she continued. “It feels very participation trophy-esque—and it’s not happening.”

Keeping Birthday Celebrations Simple
Kylie’s no-nonsense approach to birthdays doesn’t stop at presents. She also shared that she isn’t a fan of extravagant parties for young children, believing that elaborate celebrations often create more stress than joy.
“I am not a big fan of big birthdays for babies,” she admitted. “I feel like it’s just making more work for ourselves. I would much rather get a cake, give them a piece, and let them go in on it—which is exactly what we’ve done.”
Rather than throwing large themed parties, Kylie and Jason prefer to keep things personal and meaningful. The couple takes the time to make sure their daughters feel special by choosing cakes that fit their interests.
“We will scroll Pinterest and Google search to see some birthday cakes for kids’ birthdays, and then we order it,” she shared. “I think it’s very special for them to get to show all of the people who come to celebrate their birthday that they got to pick their cake and how excited they are for it.”
Expanding the Kelce Family
Kylie and Jason, 37, already share three daughters—Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 2—and are currently preparing to welcome their fourth baby girl. Kylie announced her pregnancy in November 2024 with a sweet family photo showing her three daughters in matching “Big Sister” sweaters.
The picture hilariously captured their differing reactions to the news: Wyatt covered her ears, Elliotte smiled brightly, and Bennett looked less than thrilled, bursting into tears.
While the Kelce family is excited for their newest addition, Jason recently revealed that baby number four might be their last.
“We’ve brought it up,” Jason said during an appearance on TNT’s Steam Room, when asked whether he plans to get a vasectomy. “I don’t know if it’s going to happen or not. But I think we’ll see. This might be it.”
Whether or not they expand their family further, Kylie’s parenting philosophy remains clear—no unnecessary birthday presents for siblings, no over-the-top baby parties, and a whole lot of love and laughter in the Kelce household.
