Darius Slay is being cut from the Philadelphia Eagles and his wife, Jennifer Slay, is not so happy about it.
It was announced on Monday, March 3, that the football cornerback is set to be released from the Eagles after five seasons with the team. Jennifer took to her X account, formerly known as Twitter, to express her feelings.
“Real tears,” she wrote in the tweet.
Many fans showed their support for the football player and his wife in the replies, including one fan who wrote, “I’m glad Slay won a ring with us. He will forever be an Eagles Legend!!! Wish he could’ve retired as an Eagle. Thanks for embracing this fanbase so passionately. Eagles for Life!!!”
“For us too. We won’t forget what the Slay family did for this city. Jennifer, you went above and beyond …… we noticed. Wherever the train takes ya, you will ALWAYS be Eagles family. Big Play & J forever,” another fan shared.
“Ty for everything, good luck,” a third fan wrote, while a fourth fan tweeted, “Thank you for everything. We’re gonna miss you both.”

Darius played college football at Itawamba before he transferred to Mississippi State. He was then selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft before he made his way to Philadelphia to play for the Eagles in 2020.
The Eagles must carry Darius’ $13.8 million cap figure until June, as they designated him a post-June 1 cut, which will save the team $4.3 million on the salary cap in 2025.
Darius played a major role in getting the Eagles to two Super Bowls, including their Super Bowl LIX win this past February. He hoped to stay with the Eagles for one more year before he retired, however, it appears that his plans took a turn.
The cornerback previously stated that if he can’t work out a deal to stay with the Eagles, his second choice would be to return to Detroit, which is a contender for where Darius could end up.
Only time will tell where the football player and his wife will go.
