The BRIT Awards unveiled this year’s victors with Charli XCX scooping up major awards. On a music-filled Saturday night at the O2 Arena, stars converged to honor the last year’s chart-topping hits.

A-list performances included Sam Fender, JADE, and Teddy Swims, while ‘Stargazing’ crooner Myles Smith, winner of the BRITs Rising Star Award, also took the stage. Moreover, Sabrina Carpenter etched her name in history as the first international artist to clinch the Global Success Award, joining the ranks of past winners like Adele and Ed Sheeran.

In a series of fiery speeches, actor Danny Dyer’s colorful diatribe was cut by ITV censors during a jibe aimed at Keir Starmer. His uncensored thoughts on International Song of the Year recipient Chappell Roan were silenced, yet The Mirror has the inside scoop on the words that left him being one of the few to face the mute button that night.

Adding to the sensation, Dyer made waves for having a ‘horse’ as his neighbor at the event.

Charli XCX, meanwhile, cheekily chided ITV for being overzealous with nipple coverage, and comedian Jack Whitehall stirred the pot with quips about controversial ITV presenters and an ill-received joke targeting P Diddy, reports the Mirror.

Prepping for the evening, ceremony host Jack Whitehall promised to spare no celebrity from his comedic barbs, mentioning, “That’s the trick, by the way, I do a whole fake script in rehearsal now.”

“Because previously I used to do the actual script in rehearsal, and then you’d have an hour of people from record labels and publishers coming and knocking on the dressing room door going, ‘You can’t say this, you can’t say that’. So now I just do this fake script, which if you heard it, you’d be like, ‘This is the lamest script ever’, because it’s all me just complimenting everyone and going, ‘Oh, our next award is the best musician I’ve ever heard. They’re great.'”

Sabrina Carpenter set the stage ablaze with her sizzling performance of Espresso and Bed Chem as Jade Thirwall also took the spotlight with Angel of My Dreams, snagging her first solo BRIT Award and giving a shoutout to her Little Mix ‘sisters’.

Myles Smith seized his Brit Rising Star award moment to call on the government for better protection of grassroots music venues.

The evening was also marked by a poignant tribute to the late Liam Payne, who passed away last October at 31. An emotional video montage and heartfelt words from host and pal Jack Whitehall honored his memory.
