The Critics Choice Awards

While the 2025 Critics Choice Awards were set to air on Sunday, Jan. 12, the Chelsea Handler-hosted ceremony has been postponed until Jan. 26 and will take place at the Barker Hangar.

“This unfolding tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community. All our thoughts and prayers are with those battling the devastating fires and with all who have been affected,” said Critics Choice Association CEO Joey Berlin in a statement.

Oscars Nominations and Voting

The film academy announced on Jan. 8 that the nomination announcements for the 97th Academy Awards has been postponed from Jan. 17 to Jan. 19 and that voters will now have until Jan. 14 to cast their votes, the L.A. Times reported.

‘America’s Got Talent’

In a post to Instagram, America’s Got Talent announced that the upcoming Pasadena auditions, originally set to take place on Jan. 12, have been postponed.

“Your safety is our top priority. We will announce a new audition date soon. Stay safe,” the post said.

‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Jan. 8 taping — which included guests Cynthia Erivo, Brian Jordan Alvarez and Victoria Canal — was cancelled, Variety reported.

Los Angeles Rams Game

The Jan. 13 wild card game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings was moved from L.A. to Arizona.

‘After Midnight’

After Midnight hosted by Taylor Tomlinson also cancelled its tapings for the rest of the week and instead aired a repeat on Jan. 8 and plans to do the same for Jan. 9, Variety explained.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ ‘Abbott Elementary’ and More TV Shows

In addition to late night shows, sets of ABC shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Doctor Odyssey were dark on Jan. 8. For CBS, the studio decided to wrap productions early on shows like NCIS and NCIS: Origins. The Price Is Right is also stopping production indefinitely.

NBCUniversal halted production on Hacks, Ted and Suits: L.A., among other things, and the closure of the Warner Bros. studio lot affected production of shows such as Abbott Elementary and The Pitt, per Variety.

BAFTA Tea Party

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Tea Party, originally scheduled for Saturday Jan. 11, has been cancelled, the L.A. Times shared Wednesday.

“In light of the dangerous winds and wildfires in Los Angeles, we are cancelling this weekend’s BAFTA Tea Party,” the organization wrote in a statement, per the outlet. “The safety of our colleagues, friends and peers in Los Angeles remains our utmost priority and our thoughts are with everyone impacted.”

AFI Awards Luncheon

The AFI Awards luncheon, which was set to take place on Friday Jan. 10, has been postponed indefinitely, multiple outlets reported.

“Given the tragedies that prevail in Los Angeles,” a statement from AFI said per USA Today. “The spirit of community we strive for will be unachievable on Friday.”

WGA Nominations

Like the film academy, WGA East and West announced that they were postponing their nominations until Jan. 13.

‘The Last Showgirl’ L.A. premiere

Deadline reported on Jan. 8 that they’d heard the Jan. 9 L.A. premiere of Pamela Anderson’s The Last Showgirl had been cancelled.

‘Unstoppable’ L.A. Premiere

Other premieres have also been halted, including the Jan. 7 L.A. debut of Jennifer Lopez‘s new movie Unstoppable at the DGA Theater.

Tuesday’s TCL Chinese Theatre premiere of Wolf Man was also cancelled.

The Los Angeles Lakers Jan. 9 Game

On Jan. 9, the L.A. Lakers announced on social media that they were rescheduling their game that evening “to focus on what matters most today.”
