Chicago Sky star Angel Reese listed the lucrative pay and the opportunity to play alongside the best as key benefits of playing in the new 3×3 league Unrivaled before the 2025 WNBA season.
Unrivaled is the new 3×3 league set to be staged in Miami co-founded by WNBA All-Stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. The league, which will pay each of its 36 players a guaranteed $250,000 salary for the eight-week season, will tip off for its inaugural campaign in January.
Reese enjoyed a productive debut campaign in the WNBA. The 22-year-old was firmly in the Rookie of the Year race alongside Caitlin Clark before suffering a season-ending wrist injury, finishing with 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds.

Looking ahead to her sophomore season, Reese has been outspoken about her willingness for talent to join her at the Sky either via free agency or the draft. But she will get the opportunity to play with some of the best players in the world in Unrivaled.
Unrivaled players are also expected to earn a guaranteed average salary of approximately $250,000, along with equity stakes as part-owners in the league which makes it a compelling venture both financially and professionally. In an interview with WAE, Reese spoke about the benefits of playing in Unrivaled.
“For one I’m staying in the States, I don’t have to go overseas,” Reese began. “I’m making 6 figures, I’m living in Miami during my off-season. I’m playing with 34 of some of the best WNBA players, being able to get better. Some of the best coaches, we got T-Spoon, we got Phil, we’ve got a lot of great coaches there.

“I’m excited to like really dial in and get better. Obviously, the games are going to be cool and fun, but I just want to learn from the vets and stuff.”
The 34 players set to feature in Unrivaled were recently split into six teams. Reese will play for a stacked team in the first season of the league, joining Chelsea Gray, Brittney Sykes, Kahleah Cooper, Lexie Hull, and Azura Stevens on Rose Basketball Club, set to be coached by Nola Henry.
Unrivaled’s inaugural season is set to run from January to March, clashing with the NBA season and the WNBA offseason. Unrivaled tops off on Jan. 14, 2025.
