Vladimir Putin appeared with a full face of make-up when he was seen for the first time after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed the Russian leader was “dying”
Russian President Vladimir Putin seemed to be hiding behind a heavy layer of makeup during his first public appearance following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s grim prediction that the Russian leader “will die soon”.
“He will die soon, and that’s a fact, and it will come to an end,” Zelensky stated, adding fuel to the growing rumors about Putin’s rapidly declining health.
Recent photos of Putin looking almost mummified have only added credibility to these claims, despite Zelensky providing no evidence to support his statement after Putin showed signs of suffering a ‘mini stroke’. It comes after a terrifying map revealed the US regions where 75% of people will die in a nuclear World War 3.
Putin’s unusually rosy cheeks don’t appear natural and seem like they could easily be wiped away with a bit of makeup remover or a light rain shower. It also appears that Putin has to avoid making strong facial expressions to prevent ruining his clearly artificial look.
While there’s no concrete proof, Zelensky’s claim was somewhat backed up by a security expert who spoke to The Mirror in 2024 about Putin’s heavily made-up appearance during his inauguration for a fifth term.
The Russian leader had darkened his eyebrows and used a significant amount of cheek filler, seemingly in an attempt to hide his age and health condition.
Professor Anthony Glees from the University of Buckingham told The Mirror that Putin was “heavily made up” as part of his effort to maintain a macho image.
“Putin himself is heavily made up, his eyebrows darkened, his cheeks plumped up with filler, each strand of his thinning hair carefully combed. His weak receding chin makes his cold, calculating eyes seem even more menacing than usual.
“Yet Putin himself acts the modest little man off the street, almost as if he’s come to the wrong place. This is all part of shtick. He and Russia are the victims. This is the typical stance of a psychopathic killer: they are the ones who have been wronged, and those they kill are to blame. All this is deliberate and intended to underscore the political message that he makes.”
Putin has previously turned to other embarrassing stunts to pull this off, like when he was spotted riding horses without a shirt or when he was photographed practicing judo.
The Kremlin’s efforts to portray Putin as powerful only draw more attention to how he looks, which hasn’t appeared too good in recent years. In early 2025, observers started questioning his well-being after the Russian dictator was spotted with bloodshot eyes and a strange mark on his hand.
Years before, witnesses spotted a mark on his neck, which sparked speculation that Putin had received life-saving treatment for thyroid cancer. This was backed up by claims that a cancer specialist was reportedly with the 72-year-old when his forces attacked Ukraine. A U.S. intelligence document also indicated Putin had been getting chemotherapy.
It comes after reports earlier this year that Putin is plotting to invade five more countries.
