Breaking News: Dylan Raiola’s Heartwarming Christmas Gift for Matt Rhule Shows True Colors.Cau

Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola confirmed via his Instagram story that he will remain with the Cornhuskers for his sophomore season. The news is certainly a big boon for head coach Matt Rhule and his ever-improving side.

“All in! GBR” Raiola posted on Monday after rumors swirled how the Nebraska quarterback may consider making a move to Miami and replace the NFL-bound Cam Ward.

Raiola finished his freshman season with 2,595 yards while completing 66.6 percent of his passes for 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions (with a 129.1 quarterback rating).

Thanks to their freshman quarterback, Nebraska finished with a 6-6 record to clinch the program’s first appearance in a college football bowl game since the 2016 Music City Bowl: the Cornhuskers will take on Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on December 28.

The program is most certainly on the up under Rhule, who is in the second season of an eight-year, $74 million contract following his disastrous stint with the Carolina Panthers.

Raiola was originally committed to Georgia before Rhule helped him switch. He was universally ranked as a five-star recruit and received a 91 grade on ESPN entering college.

He’s the son of former Detroit Lions offensive lineman Dominic Raiola, a teammate of current Los Angeles Rams starting quarterback Matthew Stafford. The former Lions signal-caller is the younger Raiola’s godfather.

His strong player earned him a semifinalist nomination for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award, an honor recently claimed by quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence and Drake Maye.

Raiola has attracted some press this year for his uncanny resemblance to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Both don the same hairstyle, wear a nearly identical headband, and don the number 15…. in addition to featuring an eerily similar warmup routine.

The Nebraska quarterback was on hand for the Chiefs’ narrow 19-17 Sunday night victory over the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium. He was seen signing autographs to the Kansas City faithful, and some wondered if he signed his name or Mahomess.

Nebraska has not won a national championship since 1997. Back then, the team was led by future coach Scott Frost and Green Bay Packers four-time Pro Bowl running back Ahman Green.
