Jake Paul could not hide his amusement after rival Tommy Fury seemingly pulled out of his next fight – after the latter apparently turned down a seven-figure offer for a re-match against “Problem Child”.
The younger brother of former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury had been set to step back into the ring on Jan. 18 against MMA star Darren Till. However, the Brit stunned the boxing world by announcing that he will be withdrawing from the slated contest at Manchester’s Co-op Arena.
It appears that Fury had been left enraged by remarks made by the former UFC star Till during their pre-fight press conference on Nov.19. The Liverpudlian had claimed that he would break regulations by deploying a head kick during proceedings – with this comment seemingly convincing his opponent to withdraw from the fight.

Taking to Instagram, Fury spoke of his unrest at the prospect of facing off against the MMA ace, before explaining his reasons for withdrawing. He said: “I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025.
“For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is losing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.
“I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp. We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner.”

It appears that the debacle left old foe Paul struggling to contain his amusement, with the YouTuber-turned-fighter quickly breaking his silence on the matter on X. He simply posted: “Hahahaha.”
This comes after the American, who beat former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson last month, claimed that Fury once turned down $8 million to face him previously. That offer seemingly came after Paul lost against his rival last year – with this result representing the only defeat of his professional career so far.
Speaking on X previously, the social media sensation alleged: “Offered Fury $8M to fight on Netflix. He turned it down and now fighting an MMA fighter Now tell me who is running? Stupid daddy controlled kid, protected from the inevitable.”
Meanwhile, Paul’s promoter Nakisa Bidarian admitted that his client is eager to put things right against Fury in the future, saying: “I don’t think that’s a focus for Jake. I think there’s much bigger fights that he’s focused on from his perspective. Don’t ask me what those are, but whether it’s financially or motivationally, he does want to fight Tommy Fury again at some point to make that right.”
