Paige Spiranac has revealed she is ‘honored’ and ‘excited’ to have been one of a number of golf influencers appointed to the PGA Tour’s newly-founded, Creator Council.
The group of online stars have been brought in by PGA Tour bosses to liaise with the circuit’s communications team over creating new and engaging content that resonates with fans. Along with Spiranac, Bob Does Sports, Bryan Bros Golf, Erik Anders Lang, Fore Play/Barstool Sports, No Laying Up, Roger Steele, and Tisha Alyn have been appointed.
On the back of Friday’s announcement, the former San Diego State athlete released a statement of her own, writing on X: “In 2015 I went viral and that catapulted my social media journey.

“At that time there was no such thing as golf content creators on social media. Over these past 9 years, it’s been amazing to share my love for this incredible game with so many people. I’m proud of the path I paved for myself in golf and how far this industry has grown with so many talented creators who share a common goal.
“To be on the Creator Council is an honor and I’m very excited to continue to do my part to grow the game!” Announcing the council, Andy Weitz, PGA Tour chief marketing and communications officer claimed the plan was to help strengthen its relationship with the circuit’s fans online.
He said in a statement on Friday: “The combined creative engines behind the Council and Tour will help strengthen and grow our collective relationship with the vibrant community of fans who love to engage with golf and the PGA Tour through social media.”
It was revealed in the announcement that the creators involved will meet regularly to form a plan on potential PGA Tour content with the creators also given extra access to Tour’s platform. Those announced as part of the inaugural council will serve for one year before others are added further down the line.
Of the appointment, Spiranac’s new colleague Alyn said: “I’m so excited to be part of the PGA Tour’s Creator Council and collaborate with such a talented group of creators. Social media is the future of golf, and together, we’re bringing a fresh perspective that will grow the game and connect with a broader audience in exciting ways.”
Spiranac is the most followed name in the golf influencer field. In fact, the 31-year-old even has more followers on Instagram than golf’s biggest name Tiger Woods, with the social media influencer currently sitting on a whopping four million followers, 500,000 more than 15-time major champion Woods.
