All eyes were on Saquon Barkley as he wowed fans and set records with 302 total yards and two touchdowns in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 37-20 victory over the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday night.
Barkley’s 255 rushing yards tonight set a new record for the most in a single game in Philadelphia Eagles history. His total also surpassed the entire Giants offense, which combined for just 245 yards in both rushing and passing.
The win pushed the Eagles to 9-2 on the season as the Rams fell to 6-5.
Jalen Hurts completed 15-of-22 passes for 179 yards, with one touchdown, but the team’s performance was eclipsed by Barkley’s outstanding play.
The seven-year running back finished Sunday night’s game with a season total of 1,392 rushing yards, surpassing Derrick Henry for first in the league and shattering his previous career best of 1,132 rushing yards, with six games still remaining in the season.
The veteran is also on track to break his career record for most touchdowns in a single season, which was 11 in 2018 – he currently sits at nine touchdowns.
Alongside Barkley, the Eagles sit in first place in the NFC East, with fans grateful for the former New York Giants’ addition this season as he enters MVP conversations and continues his record-breaking season.
Barkley will continue his pursuit of a record-setting season as the Eagles face the Baltimore Ravens on the road next Sunday.
