Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce was straight to the point with opposing coaches walking down the tunnel following his team’s narrow 30-27 win over the Carolina Panthers.
“Good game, guys. Good game,” Kelce said, as captured by WBTV News reporter Cam Gaskins. The win sent the Chiefs to 10-1, clinching a 10th straight double-digit win season.
Kelce caught six of his eight targets for 62 yards. He passed former four-time First-team All-Pro Antonio Gates to move into third place all-time for most receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history with 11,854. The 35-year-old future Hall of Famer trails only Tony Gonzalez (15,127) and Jason Witten (13,046) on the all-time list.

However, Kelce failed to haul in a touchdown for the ninth time time in 11 games this season. He has just two scores on the season – Kelce hasn’t caught fewer than four in a single campaign (back in 2016).
For the second consecutive contest, tight end Noah Gray hauled in a pair of touchdowns. The 25-year-old is quickly emerging as quarterback Patrick Mahomes’s favorite red-zone target..
The 25-year-old was selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and has captured two Super Bowls already in Kansas City. He will likely emerge as the team’s primary pass-catching tight end next season.

The frisky 3-8 Panthers tied the game at 27-27 with 1:43 to play thanks to a gutsy drive by quarterback Bryce Young. The beleaguered former first-overall pick completed 21 of his 35 passes for 263 yards and a touchdown.
Mahomes would get the last laugh. He completed an eight-yard strike to Kelce to get the drive started but punctuated it with a 33-yard scramble.
Newly imported kicker Spencer Shrader – replacing the injured Harrison Butker – cooly connected on a 31-yard field goal as time expired to seal the 30-27 victory.
Mahomes had nothing but praise for Young following the game. “I thought he played his tail off. He throws a real good football,” the former MVP admitted.
“I think Texas Tech (Mahomes’s former school) was the first one to offer him when he was in eighth grade, and I was at Texas Tech so I remember watching his highlights tapes then and knew he was gonna be a great player.”
“Obviously he went to [Alabama] and was the first draft pick but it’s been cool to see him bounce back these last few weeks and play some great football because I know he has it because I’ve seen it for a long time. He gave us a scare today because he played his tail off.”
