Former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce was seen launching a giant teddy bear into the crowd when performing his new Christmas song at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday.

The Eagles beat the Washington Commanders 26-18 on Thursday night, but ahead of kick-off, Kelce joined the Philadelphia band Mt. Joy on stage and debuted his new single ‘Santa Drives an Astrovan’ in front of a big crowd. Kelce was seen using a banana-inspired maraca on stage with band members Matt Quinn, Sam Cooper, Sotiris Eliopoulos, Jackie Miclau, and Michael Byrnes.

Kelce later threw a huge teddy bear into the crowd before continuing to sing behind the mic. “What’s up, everybody! Thank y’all for coming out,” Kelce later told the crowd. “This goes a long way to help me promote this album which is going to help a lot of families around this area around the holidays. So thank you so much for supporting.”

The retired NFL star will release his latest Christmas album on Nov. 29, with sales from ‘A Philly Special Christmas Party’ being donated to charities around Philadelphia. The latest song comes after Kelce released the single ‘Maybe This Christmas’ alongside former Fleetwood Mac member Stevie Nicks.

“It was incredible to work with Stevie Nicks. I mean, obviously, I just am still in awe of the fact that that actually happened,” Kelce said on the ‘New Heights‘ podcast. “This is really, really cool. I mean, there is no percent chance any song that I am in should be streaming No. 1 on any service, in any genre.”

Kelce went straight to No. 1 in the iTunes Holiday Charts and replaced Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ for an entire week, and the Philadelphia hero felt blessed. “You know, I’ve fought my whole life to be the Queen of Christmas, and the fact that we’re finally there, It’s just really special,” Kelce added.

However, Kelce is aware that Carey will come back stronger in December. “I know we caught it in early November,” Kelce said. “We’ll see if it holds up throughout the rest of Christmas. We kind of caught it on the Christmas downslide. Not too many people are listening to Christmas music, so we jumped up in there.”

Although his performance went well, Kelce was apprehensive to perform his new song on Thursday. Despite it being the perfect time to expose his charity Christmas album, the legendary Eagles center didn’t want to take away from a huge NFC East clash.

“I don’t know if this is the right thing to do,” Kelce also said on ‘New Heights.’ “The Eagles are about to play the most important game of the year, they’re playing the Washington Commanders, and me and Mt. Joy are gonna go in there before the game kicks off and perform a Christmas song.”

Kelce’s performance didn’t impact the result, as although Jake Elliott became the first Eagles kicker to miss two field goals and one extra point in the same game since Ove Johansson in Week 11, 1977, Philadelphia still found a way to win. The Eagles trailed 10-6 heading into the fourth quarter, but were bailed out by Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.
