When a non-profit animal rescue group, based in Los Angeles, California, by the name of Hope for Paws, heard about an abandoned dog, they knew they had to help.
Namely, they were told that the dog was left behind by its owners when they moved, and it had been living all alone ever since.
Rescue Mission
When two volunteers arrived at the location, they were greeted by a very feisty, but frightened dog.
When the pup saw the two strangers walking in through the gate, she ran away, looking for a place to hide.
The Los Angeles rescuers, who were determined to help her, followed the dog and found her in a narrow space between a wall and the house.
By bringing some treats, they slowly approached the dog, hoping that they would gain her trust and not send her off running again.
Luckily, it worked.
As the pup ate the yummy treats, the rescuers managed to slip a leash around her head and gently carry her out and into their car.
“Nobody is going to hurt you ever again. It’s going to be ok,” said one of the rescuers to the dog.
New Life
Since the pup was so adorable, it wasn’t a surprise when she managed to find a forever home right away.
The puppy is living her best life now, being in a warm home surrounded by people who love and adore her.
She loves to run around and play with her toys, and her favorite thing is to cuddle on the couch.
Most importantly, she loves knowing that she will never be abandoned again!
Please Remember
It is important to remember just how big of an impact we have on our pets.
We are all they know and they see us as their favorite person and their best friend. Suddenly leaving your pet can negatively impact their physical and psychological well-being.
Since they are social animals, sudden abandonment can lead to severe stress and anxiety. They can also start exhibiting behavior problems, such as aggression or destructiveness.
They can also have a sense of loss and experience grief, which can easily lead to depression and withdrawal.
Final Word
If, for whatever reason, you can no longer care for your pet, please do not just leave it behind.Rather, take it to the nearest shelter and allow them to find another family who will provide it with a life it truly deserves.
